Whether the summer weather starts getting a bit cooler you know that means one thing: school’s about to start.
The first day of school is Aug. 31 for all Naugatuck students in the K-12 district.
At Naugatuck High School there will be a freshmen orientation on Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. Freshmen students will be able to get acquainted with the new school, get a tour of the building and receive their class schedules.

For the remaining grades 10-12 students, schedules will be delivered after students report to homeroom in the morning of Aug. 31.
The central Board of Education office said letters were sent out Thursday to all K-12 families in the district. The letters contain information about the first day at all the other borough schools.

There will also be an Education Fair on Aug. 28 from 1 to 3 p.m., which is expected to draw in many from the community.
On Sept. 22 there will be an open house for Naugatuck High School for parents of all grades.
