Attorney For Fotis Dulos Questions Evidence In Missing Mom Case
Fotis Dulos' new attorney, Norm Pattis, says he intends to seek a bond reduction in court Tuesday in the case of missing mom Jennifer Dulos.
NEW CANAAN, CT — Norm Pattis, Fotis Dulos' new attorney in the case of Jennifer Dulos' disappearance, says he plans to seek "a substantial bond reduction" for his client in court Tuesday in part because there are "powerful reasons to doubt" certain claims in the case.
In a statement sent to Patch Monday afternoon, Pattis said that after meeting with his client, he has questions about the accusations against Fotis Dulos, who is Jennifer Dulos' estranged husband. The two were in the midst of a bitter divorce and custody battle at the time of her disappearance.
"I've had an opportunity to meet with my client and to begin investigating the suspicions about him," Pattis stated. "There are powerful reasons to doubt he was even at the scene of his estranged wife's home the day she disappeared. I am unaware of any evidence supporting the theory he was involved in foul play.

"I plan to ask for a substantial bond reduction tomorrow based on these factors."
A hearing is set for Tuesday in Stamford Superior Court. Fotis Dulos, who was charged over a week ago with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, and first-degree hindering prosecution, is currently being held in lieu of bail of $500,000. His girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, who was charged with the same offenses, is currently free after posting bond and met with prosecutors last week.

The Hartford Courant, citing sources, writes that Troconis did not provide investigators with information that could help find Jennifer Dulos. Troconis reportedly also told authorities that she was not in New Canaan at the time of the disappearance.
Jennifer Dulos, a 50-year-old mother of five from New Canaan, has been missing since May 24, and New Canaan police have established a website - www.FindJenniferDulos.com - to help with the investigation into her disappearance.
The arrest warrants for Fotis Dulos and Troconis claim that the two were seen dumping bloodstained items following Jennifer Dulos' disappearance. Some of those items tested positive for Jennifer Dulos' blood, according to police.
