Fotis Dulos Seeks Wife's Medical Records In Missing Mom Case

Attorneys for Jennifer Farber Dulos' estranged husband have filed a court motion to obtain her medical information from her health insurer.

STAMFORD, CT — In a move he says will help the defense, attorney Norm Pattis, who represents Fotis Dulos, the estranged husband of missing New Canaan mother-of-five Jennifer Farber Dulos, is seeking her medical records and bills from her health insurance company.

A motion filed in Stamford Superior Court this week asks that Anthem Blue Cross turn over "any and all billing records, medical reports and information relating to Jennifer R. Dulos for purposes of an in camera review."

Fotis Dulos, and his ex-girlfriend Michelle Troconis, have been charged with tampering with evidence and hindering a prosecution in connection with Jennifer Dulos' May 24 disappearance. Troconis was in court Thursday receiving a date for her next appearance, and both she and Fotis Dulos have pleaded not guilty in the case.

This week's motion reiterates that Fotis Dulos "denies any knowledge as to the whereabouts of Jennifer Dulos and as regards the circumstances surrounding her disappearance."

Authorities accuse Fotis Dulos and Troconis of discarding items - some of which tested positive for Jennifer Dulos' blood - soon after her disappearance was reported.

Jennifer Dulos and Fotis Dulos were in the midst of a contentious divorce at the time of her disappearance, and this week's motion says that from February through April of this year, Jennifer Dulos generated $14,000 in medical bills.

Pattis says he wants the records to help determine whether Jennifer Dulos was "alarmed by her diagnosis," and if she could have taken "steps to cause her own disappearance in such a way as to raise suspicions about Mr. Dulos."

Pattis has aggressively defended Fotis Dulos over the past few weeks, including floating a "Gone Girl" theory about Jennifer Dulos' disappearance, and then supposedly debunking it before this week's filing. The defense also has hired a high-profile investigator for their own probe into the case.

Fotis Dulos' next court appearance on the above charges is scheduled for Aug. 9. Troconis is next due in court on Aug. 19.
