Jennifer Dulos Case: Latest Fotis Dulos Court Motion Is 'Cruel'
Spokesperson Carrie Luft says the latest theory from Fotis Dulos' attorney, Norm Pattis, is designed to "inflict pain."

NEW CANAAN, CT — The family of missing mother-of-five Jennifer Farber Dulos on Monday blasted Fotis Dulos' attorney, Norm Pattis, for theorizing that Jennifer could be alive because of a medical bill from July, several weeks after she was reported missing. In a court motion filed late last week, Pattis claimed the defense team has seen a medical bill that he says shows that Jennifer Dulos received medical services on July 7, more than six weeks after her May 24 disappearance.
Pattis goes on to speculate that she and/or her family "orchestrated" her disappearance because the divorce and child custody case between Fotis and Jennifer Dulos was not going her way. In a related development several weeks ago, Pattis was denied access to Jennifer Dulos' medical records from before her disappearance.
In a statement sent to Patch on Monday, Carrie Luft, spokesperson for the family and friends of Jennifer Farber Dulos, explained what the July 7 bill was for. Luft called Pattis' latest theory "absurd ... baseless and cruel."

"The insurance claim in question, dated July 7, 2019, is for an auto-billed quarterly fee with no connection to in-person services—the Anthem claims summary in Mr. Dulos's possession lists this same charge every three months," Luft said. "To allege that Jennifer obtained medical treatment in July is absurd. To allege that Jennifer—together with her family—orchestrated her own disappearance is baseless and cruel.
"Yet again, the allegations by Mr. Dulos’s attorney blame the victim and inflict pain on her family and loved ones."

Fotis Dulos and his ex-girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, were arrested and charged in connection with Jennifer Dulos' disappearance. Their cases are pending.
Blood evidence was found by police at Jennifer Dulos' New Canaan home on the day of her disappearance, and Fotis Dulos and Troconis stand accused of discarding several items soon afterward that tested positive for Jennifer Dulos' blood.
Last week's motion is not the first time Pattis has floated a theory in the case, having speculated that Jennifer Dulos' disappearance could have been part of an elaborate re-creation of the book and movie "Gone Girl." That reference outraged her family and the book's author, Gillian Flynn.
