Michelle Troconis Granted Permission To Leave State

The suspect in the disappearance of New Canaan mom-of-five Jennifer Farber Dulos will be allowed to pick up her daughter from the airport.

STAMFORD, CT — The criminal case against Michelle Troconis, a suspect in the disappearance of New Canaan mother-of-five Jennifer Farber Dulos, has been continued to Jan. 31, but not before Troconis was granted permission to briefly leave Connecticut for an airport run.

Troconis, accompanied by members of her family, appeared briefly before Judge Bruce Huddock in Stamford Superior Court on Friday where her case was continued.

"We're still conducting our investigation," said her attorney, Andrew Bowman, about why they were requesting the continuance date. He declined in court, and outside of court afterward, to elaborate.

Troconis and ex-boyfriend, Fotis Dulos, are accused of tampering with evidence and hindering a prosecution in connection with Jennifer Dulos' May 24 disappearance, Fotis' estranged wife who he was in the midst of divorcing when she vanished.

The two are accused of discarding items, many stained with Jennifer Dulos' blood, in the Hartford area after she disappeared, and then trying to cover it up. In a recent court brief, Bowman wrote that a murder charge may be forthcoming from the prosecution.

Fotis Dulos, who this week wrapped up a separate but related civil trial his estranged mother-in-law filed against him, is next due in Stamford court on the criminal matter on Jan. 9.

Last month, Bowman sought permission for Troconis to briefly leave the state to pick up her daughter at JFK Airport on Dec. 13. The girl is returning to the United States from Argentina, and after picking her up in the morning of the 13th, Troconis is driving her back to her Avon home.

"The state has no objection to the granting of this motion," Bowman wrote to Judge John Blawie, who granted the motion. "The defendant has always been in compliance with the conditions of her release."

Troconis and Fotis Dulos both have been outfitted with GPS tracking devices to monitor their whereabouts while they are free on bail.

She was allowed to briefly leave the state during the summer, but that trip was cut short when the GPS device reported a low signal, forcing her to return to Connecticut.
