NEW CANAAN, CT — The case of missing New Canaan mother-of-five Jennifer Farber Dulos has gripped the state for more than a month and now the mystery will grace the upcoming cover of "People" Magazine.

That was just one small development that occurred in the case on Wednesday. During a brief court hearing, Fotis Dulos, the estranged husband of Jennifer Dulos, spoke publicly for the first time and said, “I just want to tell my children that they’re constantly on my mind, that I love them and I miss them."

In court Wednesday, Dulos' attorney Norm Pattis, who previously floated a "Gone Girl" theory in the case, also floated a theory that Jennifer Dulos may have committed a "revenge suicide," the Connecticut Post reports.

Pattis also said Fotis Dulos would be willing to sit down with prosecutors to discuss his wife's state of mind before she disappeared, reports the Hartford Courant.

Pattis spoke of the bombshell offer during a court hearing Wednesday in the custody battle between Fotis Dulos and Jennifer Dulos. At issue is a psychological evaluation in the custody fight that reportedly might not be favorable to Jennifer Dulos.

Attorneys for the children and Gloria Farber, Jennifer's mother, argue that Pattis was not supposed to have the report and should be held in contempt of court over it. Fotis Dulos and Jennifer Dulos were in the midst of a contentious divorce and child custody fight at the time of her disappearance.

The judge instructed Pattis to hand the report over, and he would only be allowed to see it in the company of opposing attorneys.

Jennifer Farber Dulos has been missing since May 24, and Fotis Dulos, and his ex-girlfriend Michelle Troconis, have been charged with hindering a prosecution and evidence tampering in connection with the disappearance. They are free on bond and have pleaded not guilty.

And now that the Fotis Dulos/Troconis relationship has apparently ended, she wants nothing to do with him, reports NBC Connecticut, even going so far as to file a motion in court to keep him and Pattis away from her.

In a statement to Patch, Pattis insists that no laws were broken concerning the psychological evaluation.

"The suggestion that Mr. Dulos or his counsel broke the law is ludicrous," Pattis stated. "Mr. Dulos has a Sixth Amendment right to counsel of choice in his criminal case. Any effort to disturb that right reflects a profound ignorance of the law. If Ms. Dulos's counsel truly believes she is missing, they have no business filing pleadings in court. Cases represent controversies between parties, not public relations stunts."
