New Canaan Contemplates Waveny Mansion Renovation: Report
Among the improvements being considered is an elevator.
NEW CANAAN, CT — Town officials reportedly are split on whether to support about $1 million in new renovations to the mansion at Waveny Park, which includes the installation of an elevator and other improvements, reports the New Canaan News.
The public mansion, which received roof and other repairs earlier this year, would also receive upgrades to its rest rooms to come into compliance with American with Disabilities Act requirements under the $1 million project.
A bond measure has been approved by the Board of Finance for new renovations, but Town Council members have not been able to come to an agreement on the plans. A vote is expected on May 16.
