New Canaan Grapples With Onslaught Of FOIA Requests: Report
The most in the past 10 years.

NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan town officials say that they are seeing a sharp increase in Freedom of Information Act requests for documents, an amount that has reached a 10-year high, reports the New Canaan Advertiser.
In September alone, the town received 15 FOIA requests, mostly related to Planning and Zoning matters, such as the special permit for the Grace Farms Foundation for example, Town Administrator Tom Stadler told the publication.
While some requests can take minutes to fulfill, such as a copy of an agenda for past meeting, other requests, such as numerous threads of emails, can take months for town employees to compile.
