U.S. News and World report has ranked New Canaan High School as the 15th best in the state.
The publication also noted that the AP participation rate is 54 percent at the school and that it ranked 539th nationally.

Based on test scores 97 percent of students are proficient in reading and 98 percent are proficient in mathematics.
Total enrollment for the school is 1,275 and there is a 13:1 student to teacher ratio.
