New Canaan Leadership Criticized In Sports Field Debacle: Report
The town's Audit Committee issued its report on the problems with the athletic fields renovation project.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Leadership among various town boards, commissions and councils failed in the early stages of sports field renovation project, which contributed to massive cost overruns, according to a new report by the New Canaan Audit Committee.
The New Canaan Advertiser writes that the committee faults town leaders who largely did not use the controls that could have helped to avoid the project's budget swelling to nearly $6 million.
For future public-private projects, the committee suggests clearly delineating oversight and responsibilities to help avoid confusion and mismanagement.
