New Canaan Police Closing in on Counterfeit Bill Case

An arrest warrant awaits approval after people allegedly used fake $100 bills at a Walgreens in May. The same thing happened in Newtown.

New Canaan police are waiting for a signed arrest warrant to come back in order to charge several people for allegedly buying gift cards at Walgreens with counterfeit money.

The group of people was previously charged by Newtown Police after a very similar incident, police said.

The people are from New York and were in police custody as of last week.
