New Canaan Teen Cited By Police For Hosting Underage Drinking Party
The incident occurred Friday evening, Oct. 6.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 16-year-old New Canaan girl was issued a juvenile summons by New Canaan police on Oct. 6 in connection with underage drinking party at a home on Butler Lane, according to authorities.
The incident began with an anonymous tip of a suspected underage drinking party taking place at the home at about 9 p.m.
"An investigation into this tip determined that a party had occurred at a residence on Butler Lane," wrote New Canaan police in a statement. "Responding officers observed multiple juveniles run into the woods upon walking towards the residence, upon walking into the backyard of the residence observed approximately 30 cans of Bud Light beer, an empty Smirnoff vodka bottle and several red Dixie cups arranged in beer pong style fashion on a table."

The girl was cited for failure to halt possession of alcohol.
The incident is the latest in a string of underage drinking parties that have been broken up by police in New Canaan and surrounding communities in recent months.
