NEW CANAAN, CT — The Grace Farms Foundation last week filed an a "friendly appeal" on the recent New Canaan Planning and Zoning approval of a special permit that contained certain conditions, the foundation announced.

The foundation states that it filed the appeal seeks "to clarify language in the new special permit," and the organization stresses that the move is not an effort "to revisit or reargue issues."

On Friday, October 20, Grace Farms Foundation filed an appeal to clarify language in the new special permit voted on by the Planning and Zoning Commission. This is a friendly appeal; Grace Farms Foundation is grateful to the Town and the Commissioners for their many months of work and for their thoughtful decisions on the conditions that are part of the special permit.
Before the October 13 appeal by the neighbors was filed, the Foundation had already brought up with the Town Attorney some questions about language in the special permit document that did not exactly match what was discussed and voted on. The Foundation has filed its own friendly appeal to preserve a discussion to clarify conditions. For the record, the Foundation has not sought to revisit or reargue issues with which we disagreed. The issues are being raised so that interpretation problems can be avoided.
We look forward to raising these issues in public to defend vigorously the very hard work and effort that staff and the Commission and the Foundation expended over the last year.
