New Canaan's Pop Up Park Plan Remains In Limbo

A decision has not yet been reached.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A decision still has not been reached concerning the Pop Up Park in downtown New Canaan for the summer season as the Board of Selectmen temporarily punted a vote on the matter to mid-July, reports the New Canaan Advertiser.

The board tabled a decision until its July 10 meeting, which could possibly open the door for opposing factions to come to a consensus about the facility, which has been located on South Avenue, between Morse Court and Elm Street, for the past few years.

In a surprise move last week, the local Chamber of Commerce withdrew its support of the park after it was accused of being too supportive of the local merchants.
