Commissioners split over whether out-of-towners deserve leniency, with the chair stressing goodwill toward visitors and the town's efforts to promote a welcoming business district.
   

4. Two NCHS Juniors Take the Helm at 'Study Buddies' Tutoring Service [Q&A] (newcanaanite.com) — New Canaan High School juniors are now leading Study Buddies, a student-run tutoring service for local kindergarten through sixth-grade students, with sessions typically held at New Canaan Library. They've expanded the tutor team to nearly 20 peers, donate all proceeds to charities including ABC New Canaan, and aim to give younger students extra academic support within the New Canaan school system.
   

5. CIAC girls soccer stars New Canaan's Clare Greisen, Amity's Maggie Kershnar to miss 2026 season (ctpost.com) — New Canaan girls soccer standout and All-American forward Clare Greisen will miss the entire 2026 season due to an injury, her coach has confirmed, a major blow for Rams fans. The reigning FCIAC Player of the Year and 2024 state champion had powered New Canaan with 53 goals over two seasons, while fellow CIAC star Maggie Kershnar of Amity is also sidelined.
