Proposed New Canaan Post Office Potential Vote Tonight

The Planning and Zoning Commission could potentially make a decision regarding the proposal tonight.

The proposed building that would house the New Canaan Post Office could face a Planning and Zoning Commission vote tonight.

The commission meets at 7 p.m. at the Community Room of the N.C. Nature Center at 144 Oenoke Ridge.

Items to be considered are:

1. Upon application of Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP, Authorized Agent for LJ18 Properties, NE Equities, LLC, and Anthony and Marie Massarella, owners, for Site Plan Approval to permit the construction of an 8,220 square foot structure and related site improvements for Governmental Facility and General Office uses, for properties in the Retail B Zone at 18 and 26 Locust Avenue (Map T Block 211 Lot 887 and Map T Block 211 Lot 888, respectively); and 56 Forest Street (Map T Block 211 Lot 831).

2. Upon application of Anthony and Irene Bihl, owner, for a Special Permit of Section 3.4.C.7 to allow a detached garage/pool house to have a total building coverage of 2,047 square feet coverage in lieu of the 1,000 square feet allowed, for property in Four Acre Residence Zone at 807 Smith Ridge Road (Map 40 Block 101 Lot 53).

3. Upon application of Dorothy E. Trefts, Trustee, owner, for a Special Permit of Section(s) 3.4.C.3 to allow an existing structure to be used as a detached accessory dwelling unit, for property located in the Two Acre Residence Zone at 182 Carter Street (Map 44 Block 109 Lot 13).

4. Upon application of David Rucci, Authorized Agent for Aris and Patricia Kekedjian, owners, for a Special Permit of Section(s) 6.5.C.3.a and 6.5.C.4.a & c to allow gates and pillars that exceed four in height to remain as erected and a deer fence to remain as erected, for property located in the Four Acre Residence Zone at 309 Lukes Wood Road (Map 35 Block 38 Lot 2).

There will also be a special meeting at 6 p.m. to discuss the Cross and Vitti streets neighborhood plan.
