St. Luke's Debate Team Takes A Top Prize at State Finals
St. Luke's 9th graders won first place team and third place speaker in the novice division.
On March 18, St. Luke’s Debate Team showed its strength with a first and third place win in the Connecticut Debate Association State Finals. Amelie Warneryd ‘20 and Marco Volpitta ‘20 won first place as a team in the novice division with Amelie also taking third place speaker. Bilal Memon ‘18 and Chloe Kekedjian ‘18 expertly debated in the varsity division. Debate coach Beth Yavenditti said, “This is a great accomplishment for our novice debaters in their first year of high school and we’re really proud of them.”
