Suspect Arrested Who Allegedly Accosted New Canaan Jogger: PD

The suspect allegedly stopped the jogger in Waveny Park and said inappropriate things to her.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 20-year-old Norwalk man surrendered to police Wednesday morning in connection with an Oct. 31 incident in Waveny Park where he allegedly stopped a 17-year-old female jogger and said sexually suggestive things to her, according to New Canaan police.

Andrew C. Pacicca, of Chipmunk Lane, turned himself in at New Canaan Police Headquarters just after 11 a.m. and was charged with disorderly conduct. He was freed after posting a $5,000 bond.

New Canaan police said the incident in question occurred at about 5:40 p.m. on the running trails at the park.

"During this incident Pacicca approached a 17 year old female runner in the park and tapped her on the shoulder as she was running," wrote police in a statement. "Pacicca was running alongside the female runner and after tapping her on the shoulder, grabbed her shoulder to stop her from running and once the female had stopped running, Pacicca asked her 'Will you have sex with me for $2,000, how much do I have to give you? I'm really frustrated.'"

The jogger immediately ran off and contacted New Canaan police.

Pacicca saw press accounts of the incident and went to New Canaan police headquarters to give a statement about it, according to authorities.

"Pacicca admitted in his statement that he was the individual that approached the female runner in Waveny Park and that he is a sex addict," wrote New Canaan police.

Authorities subsequently obtained a warrant for Pacicca's arrest. He is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 6.
