SUV Stolen in New Canaan Recovered in Waterbury

A Range Rover that was stolen amid a big uptick in car break-ins was recovered in Waterbury.

A Waterbury officer noticed the vehicle’s license plate matched that of one reported stolen earlier in the day, according to the New Canaanite.

Kenneth Hofler, 19, ran away as the officer approached the vehicle. He was arrested after a foot pursuit.

Chief Leon Krolikowski said that detectives are working to see if there is a connection between that case and about a dozen other reported vehicle break-ins.
