Town, New Canaan CARES To Host Parent Forum On 'Difficult Topics'

The event, designed to help parents speak to children about tough subjects, is scheduled for 11 a.m. on June 27 at the New Canaan Library.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The town and New Canaan CARES are hosting a parent forum next week on how "to support your kids and yourself when dealing with difficult topics," organizers announced.

The forum is scheduled for 11 a.m. on June 27 in the Lamb Room at the New Canaan Library, and will feature Tracey Masella, LCSW, who is a consultant at Silver Hill Hospital, and Dr. Frank Bartolomeo, Director of Behavioral Health Services at the Southfield Center for Development.

Among the topics that will be discussed will be the ongoing search for Jennifer Dulos, the New Canaan mother of five who has been missing for a month. Additionally, the forum will offer tips, guided discussion (with time for Q & A), and resource information.

The idea for the forum partly grew out of discussions between town officials, groups and residents and Voices of September 11th, an organization dedicated to helping people and communities heal following tragic events.
