A man fired a gun into the air after a fight between two women occurred, police said.
NEW HAVEN, CT- A total of three people were arrested after an arranged fight between two women occurred and a gunshot was fired into the air on May 5.
Ashley Colon, 19, of Long Wharf Drive in New Haven and Shanel Carreto, 19, of Hallock Avenue told police that they had a beef and agreed to meet at the corner of Hallock Avenue and 3rd Street to settle their differences with a fight, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.
A large crowd had gathered by the time police arrived around 6 p.m. People in the crowd pointed out two men in a car responsible for some of the commotion, Hartman said. The driver got out, but Sergio Estrada, 43, refused. He was pulled out by officers, who also noticed he ditched a .45 caliber handgun under the car.
