UPDATE: Silver Alert: New Haven Girl, 13, Missing Since Sept. 29, Found Safe:Update NHPD (patch.com) — New Haven residents are updated that 13-year-old Arielis Valentine, who had been missing since Sept. 29 and was the subject of a Silver Alert, has been found safe, according to police. The original alert detailed her description and last known location on Shelton Avenue, underscoring the community's role in helping locate missing youths.
2. New Haven Gas Prices Above State Average As Connecticut Prices Ease (patch.com) — New Haven drivers are paying more for gas than the state, New England, and national averages this week, with local stations averaging about $4.51 per gallon of regular. A dozen specific stations across the city are listed with their latest reported prices, showing notable variation from State Street to Whalley Avenue and beyond, so you can compare before filling up.
3. Preservationists Pan Green Plan (newhavenindependent.org) — City officials and preservationists are clashing over plans to add a café kiosk, new bathrooms, wider paths, and a pedestrian-only stretch of Temple Street on the New Haven Green. University of New Haven Student-Organized Law Enforcement Showcase Highlights Diverse Career Paths (newhaven.edu) — University of New Haven students organized a Law Enforcement Showcase on campus that drew over 250 attendees and representatives from 10 local, state, and federal agencies, including New Haven and West Haven police. The relaxed outdoor event highlighted civilian and specialized roles beyond traditional policing, strengthened ties with surrounding departments, and is set to return next fall with even more agencies and hands-on opportunities for students exploring public safety careers.
