New Haven Man, 41, ID'd Motorcyclist Killed In Hit & Run: Police

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 41-year-old man driving a motorcycle Wednesday night in Fair Haven was struck by a green sedan that sped away, police said. Despite what police Capt. Rose Dell said was a prompt response from first responders, Jose Rodriquez of New Haven died from his injuries.

It was around 8:30 p.m., that Rodriquez was riding north on Haven Street toward Clay Street when, according to investigators, a green sedan traveling west on Clay toward Haven hit the bike, Dell said. The driver of the sedan "immediately" took off, heading east on Clay toward James Street, and remains at large, she said.

New Haven police investigators are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the fatal crash, or have information "valuable to the investigators" should call 203-946-6304 or through the Department's anonymous tip-line at 866-888-TIPS (8477).
