No Kidding: Here We Goat Again, But All's Wool That Ends Wool
They hoofed it to Walmart for some eats & lost their way, but the real G.O.A.T.s are Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter staffers who saved the day.
NEW HAVEN, CT —The story takes place in New Haven, but it's Branford's animal shelter officers, the real GOATs (Greatest of all time!), who came from Branford to the back of the Foxon Road superstore for the rescue.
The New Haven Police Department reached out to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter to see if the farm animals they found at the back of the Foxon Road Walmart littered with, well, litter, were already-missing sheep out of North Branford. They were not, but they were certainly lost.
Here's the story from the animal shelter:

In a simple twist of fate , the New Haven Police Department reached out to us to see if the wandering two goats and one sheep they had behind their Walmart in New Haven were our missing sheep from North Branford … unfortunately not the same ones . However we have sent the owner of those missing sheep a list of resources to obtain equipment to contain his sheep and safely get them back home . These 5 missing sheep have not been handled by humans regularly and are extremely skittish. We have been out there back and forth monitoring this situation as well.

In the meantime back to our Shoats … (1 sheep , 2 goats )
The NHPD were not sure what to do with these little fellas so they asked if we would provide mutual aid . These shoats are pretty young and pretty small and really friendly! They were a little nervous at first but once they realized that we came with food - they were all in !!! We were able to talk to them and coax them out and into our truck they went . They are now happily grazing at our Zen Barn !

We did have a pretty lengthy talk with these youngsters about how it isn’t safe to be roaming freely in back parking lots as well as not being old enough to shop on their own . We aren’t sure they were really listening over all their loud munching .
If you happen to know the owners of Larry, Moe and Curly please have them contact us at 203-315-4125.
Patch checked in with DCAS director Laura Burban Monday morning and learned that the sheep and two goats' are safely back at home.
