Pedestrian 'Violently Struck & Thrown," By Car While Filming Vehicle Stunts: New Haven Police (patch.com) — New Haven police say a 30-year-old city resident was seriously injured when a car doing donuts in East Shore Park struck him as he filmed the stunts, sending him into the air. The driver, identified as 18-year-old New Haven resident Jaime Diaz-Perez, allegedly fled but now faces serious charges, while police warn they will aggressively target street takeovers and reckless driving to protect the community.
   

2. New Haven police seek masked suspects accused of stealing gold-rimmed e-bike, officials say (thehour.com) — New Haven police are looking for three masked suspects who allegedly assaulted a rider on Howe Street Sunday afternoon and stole his distinctive green, gold-rimmed e-bike along with some cash. The victim was not injured, but no arrests have been made yet, so neighbors may want to keep an eye out and report any tips to police.
   

3. Griffin Health Honors Mental Health Worker (newhavenindependent.org) — A New Haven resident, mental health worker Miguel "Mike" Ortiz, has been recognized at Griffin Health in Derby with the BEE Award for his exceptional compassion toward patients and coworkers. Colleagues praise his calm presence, de-escalation skills, and willingness to step up during crises, highlighting how his everyday kindness strengthens care for many Greater New Haven families.
   

4. Missing jet skier found deceased following crash in Connecticut River (news12.com) — A 32-year-old New Haven man, Jose Nunez Quezada, has been found deceased after going missing during a jet ski accident on the Connecticut River near Windsor. State environmental police and multiple local agencies searched Sunday night and resumed Monday morning before recovering his body, with the medical examiner now determining the official cause and manner of death.
