Yale New Haven Health Cuts 'Management' Positions, Lays Off 72: Report
The New Haven Register reported that due to $300M in losses, YNHH eliminated 155 management roles, which resulted in 72 worker layoffs.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Citing Yale New Haven Health Senior VP Vincent Petrini, the New Haven Register reported that Wednesday, the health system "cut 155 management-level positions due to an anticipated $300 million loss."
The paper noted that the move led to the layoff of 72 current staffers.
The remaining 83 jobs had been unfilled. It's reported that the layoffs affect 51 Yale New Haven Health employees in New Haven.

Yale New Haven Health operates Yale New Haven Hospital — which includes Saint Raphael Hospital — Bridgeport Hospital, L & M Hospital in New London, Westerly Hospital in Westerly, RI, Greenwich Hospital and the Northeast Medical Group in Startford.
Petrini told the Register that the jobs were cut as the Yale health system begins the next fiscal year with a $250 million deficit. He told the paper that none of the eliminated jobs are "patient-facing," meaning the care of patients is not affected.
