Taylor Swift Donates $3K To Newington Resident In Need

Pop superstar Taylor Swift made a surprise donation to a Newington college student who lost two jobs because of the coronavirus.

NEWINGTON, CT — Pop superstar Taylor Swift made a surprise $3,000 donation to a Connecticut resident in need April 1 — and it was no joke.

The Hartford Courant reported Newington’s Jess Buslewicz is back at home after her school, Smith College in Massachusetts, closed due to the new coronavirus. She recently lost her jobs as a campus tour guide and babysitter. Also, her mother works at a travel agency and has seen her hours reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Buslewicz, who has run a blog dedicated to Swift since 2014, posted about her struggles and included her Venmo and PayPal links, according to the Courant. Much to her surprise, Buslewicz received a $3,000 donation from Taylor Nation, LLC.

Buslewicz shared the message written in the donation.

"Jess, I saw your post about everything you’re going through," the message reads. "I’m so sorry you lost your campus job. I can see that this situation has caused you intense anxiety and I hope this gift of $3,000 will help, and that you and your mom are healthy and safe. Sending you hugs, Taylor PS it may be April 1 but this is NOT an April fools joke!"
