1 Dead In 2-Person Stabbing Incident In New London

Police said a two-person stabbing that occurred in New London left one person dead and the other injured.

NEW LONDON, CT - Police said a two-person stabbing that occurred Tuesday evening at 49 Blackhall Street in New London left one person dead and the other injured. Police are still investigating the situation.

The two victims were quickly located by police and subsequently transported to L+M Hospital for emergency care, according to a release. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

Police said one victim died from the injuries he sustained while at the hospital, while the other sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Police have identified the deceased victim as Raheeim General, 33, of New London. The other victim has been identified as Metese Hinds, 46, of New London.

Police said Hinds was arrested at the hospital for a non-related warrant for violation of protective order, and remains in custody on $10,000 cash surety bond.

Police said officers have collected evidence and conducted interviews relating to the investigation, which remains active.
