New London Man Sentenced In Drug Dealing, Guns Case, Prosecutors Say

NEW LONDON, CT — A New London man will serve 10 years in prison for drug dealing and gun crimes, according to David X. Sullivan, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut

Luis Oliver-Garcia, aka "Bebo," 35, will also serve four years of supervised release.

According to prosecutors, law enforcement identified Oliver-Garcia as a large-scale dealer of cocaine and learned that he rented a storage unit at a facility on Cross Road in Waterford to store drugs and other items.

Oliver-Garcia arrived at the storage facility in June 2024 shortly before investigators were about to search his storage unit.

He was arrested after the search revealed more than three kilograms of cocaine, approximately $30,000 in cash, and a 9mm gun, prosecutors said. The car he drove to the facility had more cocaine and two boxes of 9mm ammunition.

Oliver-Garcia’s criminal history includes state convictions for drug dealing and gun crimes. Convicted felons are barred from owning guns or ammunition that has moved in interstate or foreign commerce.

He has been detained since his arrest. In January, Oliver-Garcia pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
