$1 Million Restored To Education Budget By New London City Council
The New London City Council voted to rescind last week's vote and restore $1 million to the education budget.

NEW LONDON, CT - The New London City Council voted Monday to rescind last week’s education budget vote, the New London Day reported. This decision has resulted in the restoration of $1 million to the school budget.
The vote came during a special meeting filled with emotional pleas from school supporters and board members, according to the New London Day. The council subsequently voted 6-1 in favor of restoring the budget. (To sign up for New London breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
The council had originally cut $1 million from the budget on the recommendation of the finance board, the New London Day reported. Councilor John Satti was the lone vote made against the proposed restoration.
