Science and Technology Magnet High School Hosted a LIFT Interdistrict Summer Academy Reunion
Science and Technology Magnet High School of Southeastern Connecticut hosted a reunion for the 2012 Leaders Innovators for Tomorrow (LIFT) Interdistrict Summer Academy students on October 24, 2012 at STMHS. LIFT was designed for students entering the 8th grade who are interested in academic activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
The reunion was designed to bring together the summer campers for an evening of experiential learning and visiting. The students were divided into three groups and the groups rotated for 20 minute STEM related instruction. The three areas of instruction were Forensic Science, Gaming and Engineering. While the students were learning, their parents were learning too. Anthony Nolan, NLPS Youth Officer, presented Smart Choices which included: What parents can expect from High School students, internet safety and anti-bullying.
