Arrest Made In Fatal Stabbing Case: New London PD
Police said an arrest has been made in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in New London.

NEW LONDON, CT — Police said an arrest has been made in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred on Tilley Street late Sunday. This incident was the second homicide reported over the weekend.
Police said Patrick McInerney, 44, of New London was arrested and has been charged with murder. The release of the deceased victim’s identity is pending notification of his next of kin, according to a release.
The suspect was held on a $250,000 cash-surety bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in court Monday, police said.

At about 8:35 p.m. Sunday, police received a 911 call conceding a male stabbed in the chest at 39 Tilley Street. When police and fire crews arrived on the scene they found an adult male with a stab wound to the upper chest lying on the steps of the 2nd floor of 39 Tilley Street, police said.

Medical attention was immediately initiated on the located victim. The male was subsequently transported to L+M Hospital where he was pronounced deceased, police said. The scene was secured and a canvass of the area was initiated by police.
New London police detectives responded to investigate the incident. The New London States Attorney's office also responded to the scene, police said.
