Body Found Near New London's Gold Star Bridge [UPDATE]
The discovery was made the morning of Friday, Oct. 10.
Update: Friday, Oct. 10, 5 p.m.
On October 10, at approximately 10:20 a.m., troopers from Troop E- Montville responded to the I-95 northbound exit 84 on-ramp for a report of skeletal remains located in a grassy area off the highway, State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance stated in a press release.
The scene was searched and secured by responding troopers. State Police Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and will examine the entire scene for physical and forensic evidence, he said.

The Office of the Chief State’s Medical Examiner will conduct a post mortem examination of the remains to determine the identity, manner and cause of death. The investigation is continuing.

Local and state police were on scene at Gold Star Bridge Friday morning, due to reports of a body found in close proximity to a ramp.
Police are not commenting with specifics yet or whether the circumstances are suspicious, WTNH reports. News 8 reporter Tina Detelj reported on Twitter that the body was decomposed.
