Connecticut College Student Arrested On Voyeurism Charges: Police

A Connecticut College student was arrested in connection with a voyeurism incident in a dormitory bathroom.

NEW LONDON, CT — A Connecticut College student has been arrested after a reported incident of voyeurism in a dormitory bathroom, according to police. Nicholas Spellman, 19, of 11 Forest Glade Drive in Wilbraham, MA, was charged with voyeurism and disorderly conduct.

He was released on bond and assigned a court date of Nov. 20.

His arrest is in connection with a report of voyeurism Saturday at 10:11 p.m.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing.

In a separate incident, Carlos Alberti, 21, of Richmond, Mass., was charged with 36 counts of voyeurism in connection with incidents between October of 2018 and January 2019. Police said the incidents involved cellphone cameras that were pointed at women who were preparing to shower at residence hall gender-inclusive bathrooms.

New London Police encourage anyone who has information concerning these type of incidents or has reason to believe that they may be a victim of this type of crime to contact the New London Police Department’s detective bureau at 860-447-1481 or anonymous information may be submitted via the New London Tips 411 system by texting NLPDTip plus the information to Tip411 (847411).
