Police Identify Deceased Body Found In Portable Toilet At New London Park: UPDATE

New London police said officers have identified a deceased person found in a portable toilet. BREAKING

NEW LONDON, CT - Police said the body of a deceased man found at McDonald Park in a portable toilet has been identified. An investigation had been ongoing since the discovery of the body Saturday.

Police said the body has been identified as Christopher Coons, 30, of New London. The official cause of death remains unknown at this time pending an autopsy result, however the investigation remains active, police said.

Police said the deceased was found after receiving reports of a possibly dead person inside a "Porta John" at the park around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. There were no obvious signs of trauma on the body and the death does not appear to be suspicious, police said.

Police said an autopsy has been scheduled. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to contact New London police immediately.
