Dime Bank Awards Scholarships to Ten Local High School Students

Dime Bank recently awarded scholarships to ten local high school students from Norwich, New London, East Lyme, Griswold, Ledyard, Montville, Sprague, Stonington, and Westerly.

At the Bank’s annual reception on Thursday, June 13, Nick Caplanson, President and Chief Executive Officer, presented each student with their check. Dime has been awarding scholarships to local students since 1995. The award was created to help deserving students attain a college education and recognize them for their high academic and community achievements. The annual awards are based on academic excellence, community involvement, extracurricular activities, and financial need.

According to Nick Caplanson, “We are proud to be able to provide scholarships to these outstanding students. Their involvement in the community and extracurricular activities; while maintaining high academic standards is impressive.” Congratulations to all Dime Scholarship recipients and keep up the great work.

Mary Harrison - Academy of the Holy Family; Kyrra Gelinas - East Lyme High School; Keval Patel - Griswold High School; Christine Simmons - Ledyard High School; Rachael Olivia Orbe - Montville High School; Thaidisbeth Lopez - New London High School; Gavin Li - Norwich Free Academy; Analicia Garcia - Norwich Technical High School; Jonathan Mathews - Stonington High School; and Margaret-Amelia Crook - Westerly High School.
