Recent unrelenting rain in Peru has caused flooding and mudslides that have killed dozens and displaced tens of thousands.

NEW LONDON, CT - A New London agency is hosting a relief effort for Peruvian flood victims, the New London Day reported.

Unrelenting rain in recent weeks has caused flooding and mudslides that have killed dozens and displaced tens of thousands of people in Peru, according to the New London Day. Norwich, New London and southeastern Connecticut on a whole also have a high population of Peruvians.

To combat these recent tragedies, several women are leading a local effort to send food, water and clothing to the people of flood-ravaged Peru, the New London Day reported. Donations will be accepted seven days a week at Centro de la Comunidad in New London.
