Emergency Crews Respond to 4 Overdose Calls Over 5 Days in New London

City emergency personnel responded to four overdose calls within the past five days.

NEW LONDON, CT - City emergency personnel responded to four overdose calls within the past five days, the New London Day reported.

The four reported overdoses occurred from Friday to Tuesday, according to the New London Day. Officials said responders administered Narcan during three of the incidents, and two occurred in or near public places.

Recent data from the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner revealed New London had one of the highest rates of fatal overdoses in Connecticut last year, the New London Day reported. A number of people who died in the city, however, were not residents.
