New London High School will host our first pizza cook off on November 15th, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. Culinary students with 3 and 4 years of culinary experience will be battling against each other for the top spot. The task is to create a pizza that is great looking, great tasting and creative. Students are encouraged to think outside the box. The winner will receive recognition from The Recovery Room, where that team’s pizza will be featured for a week on their special menu.
Judging the contest will be Luigi, from The Recovery Room and other well recognized restaurateurs. Luigi has spent time with the students, giving them tips and demonstrating dough techniques, showing them how to throw dough and how to work a sauté station. He is the perfect person for this because of his many years of experience in the restaurant industry here in New London. Luigi joined The Recovery Room 12 years ago and still enjoys working there every day.
