Fall Food Stroll Buttons Available

has started selling buttons for admission into the Fall Food Stroll.

Sales opened Tuesday for the event, in which restaurants from around the city feature some of their dishes in downtown venues. The stroll runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 17.

Buttons purchased in advance are $25 or $20 with student or military discount. Participants may also purchase buttons on the day of the event for an additional $5. New London Main Street has added a group rate this year, selling buttons for $20 apiece with the purchaes of six or more buttons.

This will be the 17th food stroll hosted by New London Main Street. Another stroll takes place in the spring. Participants may sample food at the approximately 50 participating restaurants and receive one drink ticket. Local bands will perform around downtown during the evening, and galleries and businesses will hold special promotions during the stroll.

The Fall Food Stroll also marks the eighth Culinary Excellence Competition. Chef instructors from Johnson & Wales University will serve as judges and award prizes.

Buttons may be purchased at New London Main Street's website or at their office on the second floor of 147 State Street.
