Fire That Destroyed New London Taco Bell Ruled Accidental: Report

New London fire officials said the blaze that destroyed a local Taco Bell restaurant has been ruled accidental.

NEW LONDON, CT - New London fire officials said the blaze that destroyed a local Taco Bell restaurant has been ruled accidental, the New London Day reported. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. on Nov. 11.

City Fire Marshal Vernon Skau said Tuesday the fire was electrical in nature and began near the restaurant's takeout window, according to the New London Day. The events that lead to the electrical failure have not yet been determined by fire officials.

Skau said the company is planning to demolish the building in order to build a new Taco Bell in its place, the New London Day reported. The restaurant is located at 404 Colman Street.
