Gas prices may be reaching their peak, if CNBC is correct. The news network says some analysts signs of economic growth, sufficient oil supplies despite tensions with Iran and a decline in shipments from that country, and a stronger dollar could stablize the price at the pump. Crude oil supplies in the United States have increased by the import of 16 million barrels since March 30, according to the Calgary Herald. Also on the home front, the Christian Science Monitor reports that U.S. sanctions on Iran are adding about a quarter to the price of gasoline and Gov. Dannel Malloy made good on his promise to .

As of Friday afternoon, the average for a gallon of regular grade gasoline in Connecticut rose five cents during the week to $4.13 while the national average went to $3.92, according to ConnecticutGasPrices.com. The cheapest reported station in the state was a 7-Eleven in Manchester with a price of $3.94.

New London prices stayed fairly stable, with the cheapest price climbing a penny to $4.03. This is available at the on Broad Street. Prices take a jump after that, with the next most economical option being $4.09. You can find this price at the and station on Williams Street, the on Ocean Ave., and for cash payments at the on Broad Street.

Prices in Groton start at $4.09, available at the Citgo on Gold Star Highway. After that, $4.13 is available at the Gulf on Mitchell Street, Shell on Route 12, and Sunoco on Fort Hill Road. Waterford ties for the cheapest price in the area, posting $4.03 at the BJ's on Cross Road. This is followed by $4.05 at the Bestway on Boston Post Road and $4.13 at the Shell on the Hartford-New London Turnpike.
