A slowdown in the global economy - particularly China, Europe, and the United States - is continuing to drive oil prices back down, according to BusinessWeek. Reuters reports that prices are likely to remain high due to tensions with Iran, although production in other countries has increased. Bloomberg reports that Iraq is on track to exceed Iran in oil production.

Since Monday, the state average for a gallon of regular grade gasoline has fallen four cents to $4, while the national average has dropped three cents to $3.74, according to ConnecticutGasPrices.com. The cheapest reported station in the state as of Friday afternoon remains a Sam's Club in Newington with a price of $3.76.

In New London, you can find a price of $3.93 at on Broad Street and four cash payments at the across the street. The on Ocean Ave. has $3.95. Most other stations in the city keep their price at $3.99.

Groton prices start at $3.99, available at the Citgo on Fort Hill Road. This is followed by $4 at the Gulf on Mitchell Street and $4.03 at the Shell on Fort Hill Road. In Waterford, BJ's on Cross Road has a price of $3.93. This is followed by $3.95 at Bestway and $3.97 at Mobil and Sunoco, all on Boston Post Road.
