With talks between the West and Iran set to resume next month and positive profit reports from the German and American markets, oil prices are again trending up, according to the Associated Press. The Washington Post says these developments have helped neutralize the effect of both concerns over Iran as well as disappointing jobs and housing data. President Barack Obama has called for better enforcement of oil market regulations, according to the U.S. News and World Report. And Senator Richard Blumenthal joined 18 other senators in filing an amicus brief aimed at enforcing rules to block excessive speculation on gas prices.

Gas prices in Connecticut have dropped a penny since last week to $4.13 for a gallon of regular grade fuel, while the national average fell two cents to $3.87, according to ConnecticutGasPrices.com. The cheapest reported stations in the state as of Friday were a Citgo and Mobil in Terryville, each with a price of $3.92.

In New London, prices start at $4.07 for cash payments at the on Broad Street. The next cheapest option is $4.09, a price shared by the on Broad Street and on Ocean Ave. Most other stations have a reported price of $4.15.

On the other side of the Thames, Groton options also start at $4.07 at the Hess on Route 12. This is followed by $4.09, available at the Citgo on Gold Star Highway and for cash payments at Cory's on Route 12. Waterford prices begin at $4.05 at the BJ's on Cross Road. This is followed by $4.06 at the Bestway on Boston Post Road and $4.09 for the Hess and Sunoco on the same road; the Hess price is for cash payments only.
