Grants Given To 2 New London Programs From United Way

Two city organizations have received grants from the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut.

NEW LONDON, CT - Two city organizations have received grants from the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, as reported by the New London Day. United Way hopes the grants will enable these organizations to help county residents improve their financial stability.

Officials said Safe Futures received $16,000 for its Career Support Program, according to the New London Day, This program helps out victims of domestic violence, sexual assault among and other crimes. The organization Higher Edge also received $7,000 for its Success Program, according to the New London Day. This programs helps out low-income or first generation college students.
