Historic New London Lighthouse Inn Property Sold at Auction, Planned to Reopen

After purchasing the historic property, the new owner is planning on reopening the inn.

NEW LONDON, CT – The historic Lighthouse Inn property was sold for $260,000 at an auction, and plans are now being set in motion to reopen it, The Day reported.

Alwyn Christy of Glastonbury was the highest bidder at a City Hall auction on Wednesday, according to The Day. He is the the former chief executive officer of a private security and risk mitigation company in Eastern Africa.
Christy plans to restore and reopen the property as an inn, The Day reported. The purchase comes three years after the city acquired the property at a tax auction, then failed to attract a developer.
