Injured Man Rescued From Fishing Boat By Coast Guard Station New London Crew

A boat crew from Coast Guard Station New London was able to evacuate an injured man from a fishing boat.

NEW LONDON, CT - A boat crew from Coast Guard Station New London helped an injured man Monday, the New London Day reported. The crew was able to evacuate the man from a fishing boat west of Gardiners Island, New York.

The Coast Guard responded after receiving reports of a man having slipped on the deck of a fishing vessel, the New London Day reported. Officials were told he had injured his head and was temporarily unresponsive. (To sign up for New London breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

The crew was able to intercept the boat as it was making its way back to home port, the New London Day reported. The victim was found to be stable and was taken to Waterford Emergency Medical Services after the boat was docked.
