Jewish Federation of Eastern Connecticut Providing Air Conditioners For Those In Need

Organization continuing program to help seniors and sick beat the heat

As hot temperatures continue to grill New England, the has resumed a program to provide air conditioners to residents in the region.

Operation Cool Down has started its fifth year, according to the Norwich Bulletin. The program is funded in part by Dominion Nuclear Connecticut Inc. and . Those wishing to take part in the problem must present a medical referral and affidavit incidating problems and can apply through the federation, , United Community and Family Services, Visiting Nurses Association, or a personal physician.

According to the Connecticut Network of Care, the air conditioners are provided to seniors and infirm residents during the months of July and August.
