On this RN Wednesday, please meet Judy Swift, a nurse educator with the Joslin Diabetes Center at L+M. For 13 years, Swift has been helping patients manage diabetes, mostly out of L+M’s Mystic office.
“I love helping people become self-managers – controlling diabetes so it doesn’t control them,” Swift says. “As the patient learns what he or she can do to help themselves, you can almost see, by the end of an appointment, the stress drop from their face.”
