Man Breaks Hospital Equipment, Threatens Staff With Knife: PD
Police said a man was arrested after breaking equipment at a New London hospital and threatening staff with a knife.

NEW LONDON, CT - Police said a man was arrested Friday after breaking equipment at a New London hospital and threatening staff with a knife. The incident occurred at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital at approximately 12:26 a.m., according to a release.
Police said hospital security reported a man brandishing a knife and threatening staff inside the emergency room area of the hospital. Security and staff were subsequently able to restrain the suspect before police arrived.
Police said the suspect also yelled profanities and broke hospital medical equipment during the incident. A member of the hospital staff sustained a minor injury while attempting to restrain the suspect.

Police said Carlos Rodriguez, 35, of New London was arrested on charges of assault on a public safety officer, carrying a dangerous weapon, threatening and breach of peace among other charges.
